May 2016: 1,037 Syrian Refugees Admitted to USA, Only 2 were Christians

While the number of Syrian refugees admitted to the USA last month was a 130 percent increase over the previous month, only 2 of the 1,037 refugees allowed entry were Christians, i.e., far less than a drop in the bucket compared to the 1,035 Muslims allowed entry by the Obama administration.

Just enough for the Obama administration to counter arguments that the administration is discriminating against Christians.

May’s figure of 1,037 Syrian refugees brings the total number since the beginning of 2016 to 2,099 – compared to 2,192 for the whole of 2015, according to State Department Refugee Processing Center data.

Earlier years since the Syrian civil war began saw much smaller numbers arriving – 20 in 2011 (dated from mid-March); 41 in 2012; 45 in 2013; and 249 in 2014.
